Abstract

In this paper, the realization of Y-shaped dielectric dual-mode resonator filters is discussed. All resonators are composed by uniform cylindrical rods which can be soldered on different metallic cores. This enables different resonator geometries to be realized easily. The dual-mode resonators are designed to operate in the TM mode. A second order Y-shaped dual-mode filter with one real frequency axis transmission zero (TZ) as well as two different fourth order filters are designed, manufactured and measured within this paper. Depending on the geometry, the fourth order filters either reveal a complex TZ pair or even a pair of real frequency axis TZs.
