Abstract

Results of both linear and non-linear dielectric studies of the tautomeric equilibria in benzene solutions of 2- and 4-acetylpyridines are presented. The suggestion that 2-acetylpyridine occurs only in its trans conformation has been confirmed. The analysis for 4-acetylpyridine has shown the correctness and specific utility of the dielectric methods (particularly the non-linear) to studies of conformational equilibria.
