Abstract
A study is made of the dielectric relaxation observed in the ferroelastic phase of submicron SrTiO3. It is shown that the relaxation process is due to interaction between electric charges and the ferroelastic domains. The presence of electromechanical coupling is confirmed by the results from studying the nonlinear dielectric response in a wide range of temperatures that includes the ferroelastic phase transition.
