Abstract

Dielectric measurements, tan δ and G(ω), in 0.40Ag2O—0.60P2O5, 0.60Ag2O—0.40P2O5, and 0.60Ag2O—0.08B2O3—0.32P2O5 glasses are reported in the frequency range 10−3 to 105 Hz and the temperature range 175 to 400 K. Anomalous behaviour of tan δ is observed in the 0.60Ag2O—0.08 B2O3—0.32P2O5 glass and is interpreted in connection with the existence of BPO4 and BO4 groups in the glass. Activation energies for dielectric relaxation and conduction are found to be close.
