Abstract

BaxSr1−xTiO3 ceramics with different grain size were prepared by solgel method. The dielectric relaxation of the samples was observed at room temperature. The experimental results showed that the relaxation frequency increases with decreasing grain size. An explanation of this phenomenon was given by an electric potential model that qualitatively agrees with the experimental results. Furthermore, the model showed that the height of the potential barrier had a simple relation with the grain size.
