Abstract

Preliminary investigations of the changes in the dielectric properties of unsaturated polyester resins on thermal ageing have been studied. These materials are used in electronic components and in hardware. Measurement of the dissipation factor and dielectric constant is found to offer a convenient and useful non-destructive means of following the complex changes that occur during thermal ageing. This may lead to a better understanding of the anomalous behaviour of the dielectric properties.
