Abstract

The dielectric permittivity of the amorphous system LiCl·7H 2O has been determined between 0.3 and 25 K both in the audio (kHz) and microwave (GHz) frequency range. Qualitative agreement is found between experimental results and a theoretical description based on the tunnelling model. However, comparing low and high frequency data, remarkable deviations from the predicted frequency dependence are observed.
