Abstract
A novel method has been used to synthesize samples in the Ca 1− x La x Cu 3Ti 4− x Co x O 12 system ( x = 0.10, 0.20 and 0.30) using solid TiO 2 powder and metal nitrate solutions. X-ray powder diffraction analysis confirms the formation of single phase at 900 °C. SEM micrographs of the system confirmed the average grain size is 1–2 μm. Transmission electron microscopy has been employed to characterize the structure of resulting materials. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA) confirms the stoichiometry of the synthesized materials. Dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the composition was found to be 2000 and 0.50 respectively at room temperature (1 kHz). AC conductivity of Ca 1− x La x Cu 3Ti 4− x Co x O 12 sample increases with increasing temperature, which shows semiconducting behavior of the materials.
