Abstract

The tangent of the loss angle and dielectric permeability are measured along the cleavage plane in natural phlogopite and muscovite in the frequency range 3–36.8 GHz. A maximum in the loss angle tangent in phlogopite was observed at a frequency of ∼5 GHz, connected with the presence of interpacket pellicular water.
