Abstract

We investigate the temperature dependence of the dielectric constant ofBaTiO3 ceramic with coarse to nano-grain size under differenthydrostatic high pressures up to 5000 bar in the range betweenroom temperature and 200°C. The ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phasetransition temperatures Tc are determined from the peak ofdielectric constant versus temperature. The values of averagegrain-size are estimated from the SEM images. It is found that themagnitude of dTc/dp varies considerably from sample to sampledepending on grain size. The Curie point Tc of the sample withsmall grain size decreases more sharply than that of samples with largerone.
