Abstract

A phenomenological theory of the dielectric properties in the vicinity of the isotropic to anti-ferroelectric B2 phase transition in banana shaped molecules is developed. The temperature, pressure and frequency dependences of the complex dielectric permittivity in the B2 phase are calculated and comparison is made with experimental data reported by us earlier. The proposed model describes well, the isotropic-B2 phase boundary and the behavior of permittivity in the B2 phase.
