Abstract

AbstractThe dependence of the dielectric permittivity on the strength of a dc electric field in the glassy dielectric material Bi1.8Pb0.3Sr2Ca2Cu2.7K0.3Oz was studied. It was revealed that the value of the dielectric constant is decreased by a quadratic law as the dc field strength is increased. Such behavior of the dielectric permittivity under external bias electric field speaks in favor of a dielectric nonlinearity, which can be described in frames of a thermodynamic approach.
