Abstract

The dielectric dispersion of salt water saturated porous glass is measured in the frequency range 5 Hz to 13 MHz. The specimens were made from sintered glass powder of grain size 0.1 mm. The porosities ranged from 4.8% to 27%. The contact impedance between the electrodes and the porous specimen is determined and an equivalent circuit for the system is given. Also, the local porosity distribution defined in the theory of Hilfer is determined by image processing of a digitized picture of a specimen.
