Abstract
The ternary polymer blend nanocomposites were prepared by solution casting method using ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) and 0–10 phr loaded halloysite nanotubes (HNTs). The dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss tangent (tanδ), impedance spectra and electrical conductivity of the nanocomposites were investigated in the frequency variation of 100 Hz–1 MHz in the temperature range of 30 °C to 100 °C. With rise in HNTs content, real part of dielectric permittivity (ε/), dielectric loss factor (ε//) and dissipation factor (tan δ) increases with increase in HNTs loading. From Niquist plot it is observed that with increase in HNTs loading the semicircle nature of the composites shift towards Z/. AC conductivity of the EVA/EPDM/HNT composites increases up to 7.5 phr HNT loading and decreases with 10phr HNT loading as in case of dielectric permittivity. Effects of temperature on ε/, tanδ and ac conductivity have also been reported.
