Abstract
The CaCu3Ti4O12–polyethylene composite was prepared using solution casting method. Thermally and mechanically, CaCu3Ti4O12–polyethylene composite film was treated using annealing and hot pressure (HP) processes in order to modify the distribution of the CaCu3Ti4O12 particles in polymer matrix. The higher dielectric constant appeared with annealing process is due to the increase in crystallinity with polymer matrix. For the HP treatment, it was found that the configuration of the initial stack has a strong influence on the properties of the composites. In general, the HP process was prone to result in a high dielectric response in the composite at room temperature. Composite with a dielectric constant of 11 and loss of 0.1 at 1 kHz was obtained at room temperature and when it reached 95 °C. The morphology of the composites was studied using scanning electron microscope. The composites with a dielectric constant of 11 and loss of 0.1 at 1 kHz were obtained.
