Abstract

The present paper reports the dielectric and microwave reflection properties of the M-phase Li1+xNb1-xTixO3 (x = 0.06, 0.10, 0.14, 0.18) solid solutions synthesized by solid state reaction method in the X-band (8.2 GHz–12.4 GHz) frequency range. The values of relative permittivity were obtained between 29.86 and 42.83 while loss tangent ranged between 0.034 and 0.091 with change in composition for X-band. Dielectric relaxation behaviour was not observed for all the studied samples in X-band. Composition with x = 0.14 has shown the reflection peak of −0.14782 dB (96.65% reflection) at sample thickness of 2.3 mm and frequency of 9.964 GHz. Compositions x = 0.14 (sample thickness = 2.3 mm) and x = 0.18 (sample thickness = 2.4 mm) show more than 90% reflection in entire X-band frequency range and are suitable candidates for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding materials or microwave reflectors.
