Abstract

AbstractThe present work investigates fluorescent polymer dispersion in the cholesteric liquid crystal (LC) as a function of temperature and concentration of polymer. The dielectric parameters of the cholesteric LC are determined by measuring capacitance and inductance with the function of the frequency and temperature. The material used for doping is a polymerā€poly[(4,4ā€²ā€hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydrideā€altā€3,6ā€diaminoacridine hemisulfate] and it is one concentration doped in pure cholesteryl stearate. The temperature dependence of dielectric permittivity has been discussed for the pure and polymerā€doped system. In addition to this Fourier transform infraā€red (FTIR) spectroscopy has also been performed to understand the interaction between cholesteric LC and polymer molecules.
