Abstract

An early Russian chronicle of the 13th or 14th century, the Trinity Chronicle (Troisky Khronograf) contains a partial copy (fragment 224) of a Slavonic translation of the legend of the Reversio sanctae Crucis (BHL 4178), which has hitherto not been identified. In order to give non-Slavists an idea of the text and the quality of the Slavonic version a retroversion of the Slavonic text based on O. Tvorogov’s edition has been published in parallel with the Latin text of BHL 4178 in B. Mombritius’ edition.
