Abstract

The New Testament was one piece of the Bible and plays a significant role in describing the Christmas story. In literary point of view, Lukas II 10-20 deals with the message of the angel and the song of praise. In 1950 no one could have foretold that in the next decade Luke-Acts would become one of the great storm centers of New Testament scholarship, second only to that of the historical Jesus. The author examines whether the verb was wrong in Greek texts. In Theological Dictionary of the New Testament this lemma is not treated. Wettstein offers many examples from the Antique it Romanae of Dionysius Halic. Some of them are discussed in this chapter.
