Abstract
Abstract The preparation of various 1-substituted 4,4,4-Trichloro-2-bromo-butanes by photo-addition of bromotrichloromethane to allylic systems is described. Generally a more uniform product and a higher yield are obtained by this photoaddition than by the corresponding chemically initiated radical chain reaction.
