Abstract

In Judaism, the „sermon“ is both, a development going back to ancient customs and a modern 19th century invention adapting the style of Protestant sermons. This article shows the topics commonly chosen for JewishHoloday and Festival sermons with the High Holidays (New Year and Day of Atonement) providing the most preeminent sermon occasions. The sample will present a Yom Kippur sermon given in Germany in 2015.
