Abstract

Focussing on faith as a category of certitude, as commonly seen in protestant dogmatic theology, leads to several issues concerning theory and application of pastoral care. Suppressing emotional aspects in the adoption of faith proves to be particularly problematic. This essay discusses emotions related to the fight for freedom and love on that background as an incorporation of faith and of the »struggle of faith«, pleading for faith as a category of a passionate life to be used in pastoral care.
