Abstract
This chapter presents an overview on the books of Judges, Samuel, and the question of the History. The books of Judges have a very special character and differ from the preceding or the following books. This primarily relates to the different view of history, which was highlighted with respect to the book of Kings. It is observed that the book of Judges did not occur as a part of a comprehensive Deuteronomistic history, but occur independently. Some believe that the last chapter of the Book of Judges constitutes a later appendix. But this appendix emphasized in contrast to the actual body of the book of Judges. The chapter concludes that the book of Samuel determines the history books of the Old Testament as in the other Deuteronomistic history.
