Abstract

To determine the energy spectra of weak neutron sources by means of a proton recoil telescope the response function of the spectrometer is needed. A program is described to calculate the response function of proton recoil telescopes with foil radiators for any given measuring geometry, for any shape and arrangement of neutron source, radiator, and proton detector. The characteristic features of the response function depending on geometry and proton energy loss within the radiator are pointed out.
