Abstract

I am a second-year studentnurse in Liverpool. On August 28 2001 my future father-in-law had a serious accident during a boat trip off Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. If it wasn’t for three British nurses on the same trip, who stabilised his neck on the lifeboat taking him to hospital, he would have been paralysed for life. In the confusion we failed to get the names of these nurses; we have been trying to find them ever since. If they are reading this, or if anyone knows who they are, could they please get in touch through Nursing Standard?
