Abstract
New observations by the Hubble Space Telescope and the Keck Telescope may have spotted ancestors of present-day spiral galaxies, some 10 billion light-years from Earth. The faint galaxies, which looklike strings of beads, could fill a gap in the early history of galactic evolution, but the evidence is not yet complete.
