Abstract

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center placed a student on probation after he failed to complete a summer elective course in Uganda. The disciplinary letter claimed he was only in Uganda for two out of the eight weeks required for the research elective. The letter also indicated his course in Uganda raised professionalism concerns about his ability to manage his academic responsibilities and maintain communication with instructors.
