Abstract

A sonography student at the Baptist School of Health Professions completed more than 85% of credits required to graduate from his program. During his final rotation, the clinical instructor directed the student to conduct an ultrasound of a patient's carotid artery. The student declined to perform the assignment, claiming it wasn't part of his coursework and that vascular sonography was an elective at Baptist, not a core course.
