Abstract

In the title compound, C20H36O6·H3O+·Br3−, the torsion angles of the individual O—C—C—O segments of the macrocyclic strand are ag+a, ag−a, ag+a, ag−a, ag+a and ag−a. Both cyclohexane rings adopt chair conformations. The hydroxonium ion is anchored in the crown-ether cavity by O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In addition, the hydroxonium ion is also involved in O—H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The value of the Flack parameter indicates inversion twinning.
