Abstract

The article aims to revisit the subject of a Romanian dictionary of ethnonyms and choronyms, starting from the dictionary conceived by Eugen Munteanu within the project "Romanian Ethnonymy. A historical dictionary of peoples and countries names in Romanian” (financed by CNCS, project no. 1394, 2006-2008). After presenting the principles of the dictionary, by comparison with the dictionary of ethnonyms proposed by Constantin Dominte (2005), the difficulties of such work are discussed, an entry written within the framework of the project is reproduced and some modifications are proposed.
