Abstract
The structure of dichlorobis[4-amino-1-methyl-2(1H)-pyrimidinone]copper(II) consists of discrete [Cu(C5H7N3O)2Cl2] units. The coordination about the CuII ion is distorted 4 + 2 octahedral. The non-equivalent 1-methylcytosine ligands are bonded to the metal through N(3) and more weakly through O(2). The average N—Cu—Cl trans angle is 159.9 (1)°.
