Abstract

The flora of the Southwest Province of Cameroun is very much underexplored, certainly in view of the general richness of the region of Africa around the Gulf of Guinea. (Breteler, 1985, Cheek et al. in press). The revision of the African Dichapetalaceae (Breteler, 1990) has made clear that further exploration of this region, more specifically poorly explored parts such as Gabon, is likely to yield many more new species. Dichapetalum letouzeyi Breteler (1989) was the first and D. korupinum is the second new species to be described from the Korup National Park.
