Dibenzotetraaza[14]Annulene Complexes. Part. 3: Mesomorphic Properties of Six and Eight Chain Substituted Compounds

Abstract

The mesomorphic properties of some dibenzotetraaza[14]annulene complexes bearing six and eight alkoxy chains have been investigated by microscopic observations, DSC experiments and X-ray diffraction. In each case, D h phases were identified. The influence of the number, the length and the position of the grafted chains on the liquid crystal behaviour is discussed.
