Abstract

ABSTRACT Changes in egg production and egg quality are sometimes attributed to the effect of secondary factors of feed and environment. An example is the work of Swanson, Waibel, Helbacka and Johnson (1956), who have reported that Arasantreated corn caused misshapen and shellless eggs. The effect of various dietary levels of Arasan—SFX, a fungicidal product used in seed treatment, on egg quality have been described. The following experiment is the result of a reported suspicion that Diazinon, used as a fly spray, caused egg white break-down. It was thought that careless use of the fly spray deposited some on the feed and/or, water. Diazinon may be described as an organic phosphate insecticide.
