Abstract

The CuII atom in the title compound, [Cu(C5H3N6)2(H2O)2]·H2O, is chelated by two pyrazinyltetrazolate ligands and, in addition, coordinated by two water molecules in a tetragonally elongated octahedral geometry [Cu—N = 1.990 (2) and 2.056 (2) A, and Cu—O = 2.445 (2) A]. The CuII atom lies on a center of inversion. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked by O—H⋯O and O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The free water molecule is disordered about a twofold axis.
