Abstract

The article contains four essays on management research. Dennis J. Cahill comments on research by Mone, McKinley, and Barker (1998) concerning organizational decline and offers two propositions relating to entrepreneurship. Mark A. Mone, William McKinley, and Vincent L. Barker III respond to Cahill's comments about organizational decline-innovation relationships. Richard M. Weiss refers to Max Webber's involvement in a controversy in the Austrian School of Economics over productivity value, the validity of Ayn Rand's philosophy of objectivism, and a study by Locke and Becker (1998). Edwin A. Locke and Thomas E. Becker respond with a discussion of productivity virtue.
