Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate and understand the challenges, weaknesses and possibilities for achieving the goals established in SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Sustainable Communities by 2030, in Brazil. The research was developed through a qualitative approach, with documentary analysis and review of scientific articles. It can be concluded that the analysis of the LUZ reports, from 2018 to 2022, on SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities made it clear that in all goals, in Brazil, there was a setback; that there is interdependence and the importance of integration between the SDGs to solve problems in cities, which aim to be inclusive and sustainable; that SDG 11 is challenging, as it refers to overcoming solidified problems in society that will require a joint effort from all parties involved, from public authorities and civil society to build more inclusive and sustainable cities.
