Abstract

For the implemention of judicial aspects of therapy control (§ 34 SGB VII) the classical procedures given in the contractual agreement between surgeons and insurers have been used exclusively by the insurance company for a long time period. The dialogic rehabilitation management scheme of the „Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft“ with its innovative self-recognition concept, includes the physician as well as the patient at the earliest post-operative or post-inpatient phase into the planning of further rehabilitation steps. Decisive is the recognition that after an adequate operative treatment or initial conservative treatment, the outcome depends considerably on a consequent and up-to-date treatment regimen. Another important component for dialogical rehabilitation management was the development of rehabilitation recommendations (standards for therapies and rehabilitation) which include concrete post-treatment recommendations for frequently occurring traumatological injuries. Thus, the results of successfully implemented therapies during the last decades have been optimized. This publication introduces the objectives, the procedure as well as the initial results of two retrospective studies (heel fractures and distal radius fractures).
