Abstract

In this paper, the aim is to examine the way in which the role of trust influences workplace dialogic interactions under acute teleworking conditions. Adopting a trust dynamics theoretical lens, three types of workplace exchanges are examined: peer-to-peer, supervisor-to-employee, and supervisor-to-team. The paper highlights and examines the important role of situational and contextual characteristics, which may differ depending on the most prevalent trust stage and elaborates on the workplace consequences of online dialogic interactions, including cognitive and affective outcomes. Future research avenues are also discussed.
