Abstract

An approximately factored, implicit multigrid algorithm is developed to calculate three-dimensional compressible viscous flows. This scheme solves the full Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with a k-e model of turbulence. The flow equations are solved within the framework of the multigrid method using a four grid level W-cycle, while the k-e equations are solved only on the finest grid and uncoupled from the flow calculations
