Abstract

The Feynman model Hamiltonian for a polaron is generalized to the case of a bipolaron in an external magnetic field. The resulting Hamiltonian is exactly diagonalized and the eigenfrequencies and eigenvectors are found. Numerical results are given as function of the magnetic field and limiting results are obtained in the low- and high-magnetic field limit. The time evolution of the electron position coordinates is derived from which we obtain the optical absorption.
