Abstract

Forest products are a source of income for traditional forest peoples, for providing raw materials such as fruits, resins, gums and vines that are used both in nature, as in the development of other products. Thus, the objective of this study was to understand the different forms of ownership of forest resources in the Community Sao Jose, Costa da Terra Nova, municipality of Careiro da Varzea, Amazonas. The method used was the case study with questionnaires, interviews and participant observation. It can be seen that use riparian forest seeds for making crafts and consequently sell to tourists visiting the community; use wood to build their homes; use medicinal plants in helping to diseases and use the Agroforestry main activity.
