Abstract
El presente estudio se realizó en la ciudad de Rioja Departamento de San Martín, durante los meses de enero a agosto del año 1995, en una muestra de 120 pacientes que consultaron por presentar flujo vaginal. La vaginosis bacteriana se presentó en 78% de mujeres con vida sexual activa, cuyas edades fluctuaran entre 21 y 35 años. Fue más frecuente en mujeres que tenían 2 ó 5 más hijos (90%), con incidencia de 32,8%. Los criterios de Amsel nos permite el diagnóstico el clínico de la vaginosis bacteriana en 75 a 92%.
