Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnostic effect and guiding value of multi-slice spiral computed tomography(CT) in the treatment for patients with Cryptococcus neoformans pneumonia. Methods The clinical data of 100 cases of suspected Cryptococcus neoformans pneumonia who were treated in the Second People’s Hospital of Taiyuan from February 2017 to February 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. And the enrolled patients were divided into two groups according to the random number table method. Fifty patients in study group were checked by multi -spiral CT, 50 patients in control group were checked by X ray. The diagnostic value and pathological changes of the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in the location of lesion between the two groups (P>0.05). The diagnostic value in study group (the signs of halo, cavity, lobule, lymphadenopathy, ground glass, and mesh shadow) was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The diagnostic effect of study group was superior to that of control group (P<0.05). The proportions of solid, cavitary, nodular, mixed and pneumonic infiltrates of study group were higher than those of control group (P<0.05). Conclusions Multi-slice spiral CT is effective in the diagnosis of Cryptococcus neoformans pneumonia, so it should be further applied in clinic. Key words: Multislice spiral computed tomography; Cryptococcus neoformans; Pneumonia
