Abstract

This second edition of<i>Diagnostic Neuroradiology</i>by Taveras and Wood follows the first edition by ten years. It is still designated as section 1 of Golden's<i>Diagnostic Radiology</i>series, although it is a freestanding text. Despite a reduction in total number of pages, this edition is in two volumes instead of the original one. The original parts—"Skull," "Intracranial Pneumography," "Cerebral Angiography," "Selection of Diagnostic Procedure," "Diseases of the Spinal Cord"—have been kept, and one new part—"Inflammatory Conditions of the Central Nervous System"—has been added. New and detailed information on the vertebral-basilar system, normal and pathological anatomy of the intermediate and venous phases of cerebral angiograms, angiography of the spinal cord, and dynamic observations during serial filming has been included. The section on head injuries has been expanded. Technical refinements such as subtraction, magnification, and television fluoroscopic monitoring are described and new excellent illustrations added.
