Abstract
AbstractArthritis is the manifestation of inflammation within a joint. It can be revealed by pain, swelling, flushing and local heat. There are many potential origins: infections, microcrystalline arthritis, autoimmunity, etc. In the context of autoimmune diseases, the main causes to suspect are rheumatoid arthritis and connective tissue diseases, but other etiologies such as ANCA vasculitis can also be evoked. In addition to the inflammatory syndrome to explore, the most useful biological tests to distinguish these etiologies are the search for Rheumatoid Factor, anti-citrullinated protein antibodies and anti-nuclear antibodies.
