Abstract

The parasellar and sellar region is one of the most important areas of the skull base. It includes the orbital apex, the sphenoid sinus, the clivus, the petrous apex, the chiasmatic region, and the anterior portion of the tentorium cerebelli. It corresponds to a geometric center that concentrates on a small volume of important nervous and vascular structures. In this area modern angiographic study using computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) must be as precise as possible in order to establish therapeutic possibilities.
