Abstract
The patient's social history revealed that she slept with her pet kitten on her pillow every night. This raised suspicion for Parinaud's oculoglandular syndrome. The patient was admitted and began receiving intravenous antibiotics, with marked improvement in her facial swelling. Her immunoglobulin M and immunoglobulin G antibody titers were positive for Bartonella henselae, the causative organism in cat-scratch disease.
