Abstract

AbstractKaposi's sarcoma (KS) has been increasingly seen during the past decade because of the current acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) epidemic. In these patients, KS usually presents as disseminated disease. We report a case of KS diagnosed by fine needle aspiration biopsy in a young homosexual man with cervical lymphadenopathy. The cytologic findings leading to the diagnosis in the appropriate clinical setting and the usefulness of factor VIII immunoperoxidase stain in identifying the endothelial origin of the tumor cells are presented.
