After the publication of the Hyperglycemia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcome (HAPO) study (1), the International Association of the Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) (2) formulated consensus guidelines for the testing and diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
